Families should check with their Household Contents policy that they are adequately covered for the employment of a Nanny against claims by the employee for injuries. Alternatively they should take out an Employers`and Public Liability Insurance.

CONTRACTS
Nannies should receive a written contract of employment before the commencement of employment and must by law receive a written statement of their conditions of employment within the first 8 weeks of employment.
