| WHAT IS AN AU PAIR?
An Au Pair is a young
person coming from abroad to live with an English family. They come
primarily to improve their English and to learn about the English
way of life. They are not qualified childcarers. They can assist
a parent looking after the children or take care of children aged
3 years upwards and help with light housework. Au Pairs work for
up to 25 hours a week in exchange for their accommodation, food
and pocket money of £50/£60 per week.
WHAT WILL AN AU PAIR DO?
An Au Pair
will help with the children and with light housework.
An Au Pair
works approximately 5 hours per day to a maximum of 25 hours per
week.
Au Pairs
normally attend language school once or twice a week.
They should
have at least 2 days off each week.
AU PAIRS
Need their
own room
Earn
£50/£60 per week for 25 hours work
Should
be treated as a member of the family
Receive
one weeks paid holiday for each completed twenty-six weeks with
the family.
Hours and
charges will also vary.
